The joy I found in caring for pets and homes, along with my passion for travel, led me to make house-sitting my full-time profession. I am mostly East Anglia/ Norfolk-based, but willing to travel anywhere. During most house sits, my own dog, Harley, accompanies me, though she is equally content staying with family when necessary. House sitters can provide continuous monitoring of the horses' health and behaviour, promptly identifying and addressing any signs of illness, injury, or distress. Horses and ponies experience less stress when they can stay in their familiar environment. House sitting allows them to remain in the comfort of their home, reducing the potential for anxiety associated with travel and new surroundings. House sitters can manage the overall cleanliness and maintenance of your equine facilities, including mucking out, maintaining pastures, and ensuring a safe and hygienic environment. I rode consistently weekly from ages 7 to 18 at a local livery yard that allowed me to muck out, turn horses out, catch horses from the field, tack up before lessons, hack out, untack, take care of tack, ensuring all was stored correctly in the tack room, groom, feed, and put rugs on in winter. I have completed several house sits with horses and ponies, and absolutely love it. Believe it or not, I really missed mucking out and poo-picking fields!
