Racehorse Yard Groom – Daily care for 30+ horses including young stock, fit racehorses, and retired horses. Duties include mucking out, feeding, grooming, tacking up, exercising, and paddock maintenance. Owner of a Thoroughbred Mare – Hands-on responsibility for all aspects of horse care including feeding, fitness, health monitoring, and stable management. Experience with a wide variety of horses – From lively youngsters to older, quieter companions. Skilled in handling horses with different temperaments and needs. Yard & Field Management – Poo-picking, ragwort removal, muck heap management, checking fencing, and ensuring safe, well-maintained facilities. Health & Welfare – Spotting early signs of illness/injury, basic first aid, rug changing, and administering feed/supplements. Exercise Work – Lunging, long-reining, and hacking, adapting exercise plans to suit each horse’s level and condition. Freelance Equine Care – Providing reliable cover for private owners and yards, ensuring horses receive the same high standard of care in the owner’s absence. Additional Skills – Digital design, social media, and website creation for equestrian businesses; production of flyers, posters, and promotional materials.
