I have worked with horses since I was 10 yrs old. Backing the youngsters that the small stud produced that was attached to the small private riding school. I have worked in a variety of disciplines, and types of yard. Running my first yard at the age of 17. Where we had a team of our own show jumpers, competition liveries, sales liveries and trouble shooters on the yard. I have always enjoyed working with youngsters and the ones who have been more often than not misunderstood. Working for a private invidual who rode and trained at top level dressage had a particularly positive and knowledge expanding impact. Fitness work with Endurance horses that were then on the GB team, from walk work all the way up to them being ready to compete. Here I also rode on and away a youngster, which I learned a lot from as he was destined for high level endurance. Exercising, educating and preparing for Eventing. I have worked in racing (NH) and hunting also. Not only riding but getting prepped for days out. I love competition grooming, the drive for everything to be at it's best is inate for me. As I am not a competitive person, far preferring to do the work at home and as a competition groom. I get a huge sense of achievement from the horse looking on point and performing well, I don't need to be on board at the comp.
