Kristine Smilga

I have been riding since the age of 10 and have owned and cared for horses since I was 12, giving me a solid and well-rounded foundation in both riding and horse management. Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide range of horses, from producing a young 3-year-old Connemara through to riding a high-level, (one of Big Star's sons) show jumper with a big ego and temperament, that competed in the Sunshine Tour. This has given me experience with horses of different temperaments, training stages, and competition expectations, as well as the ability to adapt my riding and care accordingly. On the flat, I am confident working up to medium/advanced medium level in dressage, and I am a capable and balanced rider over fences, comfortably jumping around 1m–1.10m. Alongside riding, I am experienced in all general yard duties and take pride in maintaining high standards of horse care and turnout. Although I do not currently own a horse, I am highly motivated, hard-working, and eager to learn, and I would really value the opportunity to be part of a professional international eventing yard. I am passionate about horses and committed to developing my skills further in a competitive environment.
